Researchers have been studying for decades two distinct scientific fields which are increasingly coming to the forefront both in physiology, such as aging, physical activity and nutrition, and in pathology, such as cancers and neurodegenerative diseases : mitochondria for energy metabolism and redox biology, which includes antioxidants. A new field is emerging, aiming to bridge the gap between these two fields, and that includes both gut microbiota and the circadian clock : the “MitoRedox Medicine” field, which is founded and described in this new review.
